Organic Drum Company Percussionist/builder Rich Eisner hand-made snare drums feature a unique floating design incorporating two separate shells joined by a central ring. No hardware is attached to the drum shells, which allows for increased resonance and enhanced tonality. All of the hardware is mounted to a central ring to alleviate any stresses that would otherwise be placed on the shells. This design enables the use of thinner-than-normal shells. The pictured drum features two 5-ply maple shells with 45º bearing edges. The middle ring is 2" thick, and made from 32-ply maple. The overall size of this drum is 8x14. www.organicdrums.biz
