The Sessions was created by Jules Follett, author/photographer of Sticks ‘n’ Skins, a photojournalistic essay on drummers and their unique world. While creating The Sessions, Jules kept hearing stories about artists who did not get their fair share of the financial rewards from some of the most successful recordings in which they were involved. Jules met with some of her top advisors, including Dom Famularo (The Drumming World’s Global Ambassador), Joe Hibbs (Mapex Artist Relations/Product Development Manager), Carlos Guzman (Production Manager) and Paul Quin (Entertainment and Litigation Lawyer) to discuss how to educate artists about these issues. Guests panelists are John 5 (Guitarist) and Mark Schulman (Drummer/Author).
This team has created a presentation where artists can sharpen their business skills in the pursuit of their respective careers. Participants at the inaugural event of The Sessions at the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles were presented with in-depth and personal experiences and guidance from the panel along with musical guest Russ Miller. Their questions were answered in areas including contract negotiations, entertainment law, marketing, self-promotion, image maintenance and performance fundamentals. The Sessions will be offered in cities throughout the United States. For additional information click here. Advertisement
