Check out this video of the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith leading his band the Bombastic Meatbats at Guitar Center’s 2014 Drum-Off Finals,  held this past January 18. The band, which also consists of guitarist Jeff Kollman, keyboard player Ed Roth, and bassist Kevin Chown, was joined onstage by Toto guitarist Steve Luthaker, who was recently seen tearing it up alongside Peter Frampton in the house band at the 2014 Grammy Awards ceremony.

Other performers on the night were the Tom Petty’s Steve Ferrone, the Roots’ Questlove, Korn’s Ray Luzier, and modern R&B pioneer Chris Dave. Judges for the evening included Adrian Young (No Doubt), Nisan Stewart (Diddy, Missy Elliot), Brooks Wackerman (Tenacious D, Bad Religion), Aaron Spears (Usher), and Chris Johnson (Rihanna).

The 2014 Guitar Center Drum-Off was presented by DW, OCDP, Pearl, Gretsch, Tama, Latin Percussion, Meinl, Sabian, Zildjian, Remo, Evans, Promark, Vic Firth, Roland, Modern Drummer, Converse, and Shure.
