Gretsch’s Renown Walnut is a new line designed for the experienced player who is looking for a differentiated kit that delivers deep, rich tones with clear attack.

“Our Renown Maple series has been a fantastic sounding and performing drumset for the past decade,” said John Palmer, Director of Product for Gretsch Drums. “With the addition of our new Renown Walnut series, we are expanding the Renown sound profile to give drummers a wider variety of sonic options. Renown Walnut’s premium walnut shells deliver explosive sounds around the drumset that have a super deep punch and lower fundamental pitch.”

Each Renown Walnut drum features 6-ply North American walnut shells (walnut/maple/walnut), with 30-degree bearing edges, and is available in Gloss Natural and Walnut/Black Fade with natural interior shell. Drums are finished with chrome hardware including die-cast tom and snare hoops, for a classic Gretsch look and feel.

The kit includes two tom clamps, non-drilled bass drum, hinged brackets, and ultra-low profile tom suspension system. Toms come with Remo clear Emperors, batter side, and Gretsch by Remo clear Ambassadors resonant side. Renown Walnut is available in two configurations, 18×22 bass drum, 7×10 mounted tom, 8×12 mounted tom, 14×16 floor tom and 16x 20 bass drum, 7×10 mounted tom, 8×12 mounted tom, 14×14 floor tom. Snare drums will be available separately.

Gretsch also announces an expansion to the Renown series with the addition of Renown Birch, designed to meet the expectations of experienced players who are looking for a high-performance kit that will deliver articulate, clean and cutting tones.
