Canopus Drums at NAMM 2015 (VIDEO)
In this video from NAMM 2015, Canopus Drums’ Naoya Hasegawa shows us an assortment of kits, snare, and miscellaneous products that the company is offering this year.
The first kit is its gray sparkle lacquer Yaiba II Groove kit that includes 7-ply all birch shells (18×22 bass drum; 16×16, 8×12, and 8×10 toms; and a 6.5×14 snare). Next is the 7-ply maple Yaiba II Bop kit in dark red sparkle lacquer, featuring 8×12 and 14×14 toms, a 14×18 bass drum, and a 5.5×14 snare. This kit includes a tom holder as well.
The R.F.M. Series “Reinforcement Maple” is a new Club Kit from Canopus. It has a 12×15 bass drum, a 12×13 floor tom, and a 7×10 tom and comes in a natural oil finish. With the R.F.M. Series, each drum has a different shell thickness depending on its size to get maximum resonance.
Canopus offers numerous snares but you much check out the unique Zelkova one-piece snare drum, with a 22-degrees bearing edge, that takes four to five years to build.
