Clyde Stubblefield to Play at the James Brown Dance Party in San Francisco
This coming Friday, November 11, at 9:00 p.m., Mezzanine and Hush Concerts are presenting the James Brown Dance Party, an ongoing event that features a rotating cast of musicians coming together to keep the music of funk architect James Brown alive. The unique angle is that the party combines old-school players who shared the stage with James Brown with contemporary artists. Friday night’s event will feature legendary JBs drummer Clyde Stubblefield and trombonist Fred Wesley, the Chase Brothers, American Idol contestant Elise Testone, Snarky Puppy saxophonist Chris Bullock, trumpeter Carter Yasutake of the LCD Soundsystem, Animal Liberation Orchestra guitarist Dan Lebowitz, and bassist Victor Little of Robert Walter’s 20th Congress.
Mezzanine is located at 444 Jessie St., San Francisco, California. Attendees must be twenty-one or older. Tickets can be purchased here. www.eventbrite.com
