Remo’s Dorado cajons are designed and handcrafted in California using birch and two sets of three high-quality compression springs with over 400 coils each. Additional features include a fixed faceplate that seals the drum completely and enables the bass tones to resonate naturally. Remo’s patent-pending coil design forces the springs against the back of the faceplate at an optimal tension. The coils can also be removed easily to transform the Dorado into a Peruvian-style cajon with pure bass tones. The natural-finish version lists for $269, and one with an amber body and a natural face lists for $289.
