Born in Queens New York and raised in Santo Domingo Dominican Republic.
Former student at Manhattan School Of Music for the bachelor degree in Jazz & Commercial Music.
This artist transcends his latin roots by exploring a broad range of rhythms from around the world and incorporates them into his musical language making versatility one of his main assets.
He has recorded on more then 400 albums of all styles and has earned 2 Grammy Awards plus 6 Latin Grammy Awards as a session player.
Besides all his studio work he is better known for his participation on numerous important live events and world tours with most of the top latin pop & rock acts of the industry.
Such as: Ricky Martin, Juanes, Carlos Santana, Andrea Bocelli, John Fogerty, Kylie Minogue, Celia Cruz, Gloria Estefan, Juan Luis Guerra, José Feliciano, Alejandro Sanz, Miguel Bosé, Cristian Castro, Arjona, Ricardo Montaner just to name a few.
He has also work with a long list the Jazz artist such as: Paquito D’ Rivera, Michel Camilo, Arturo Sandoval, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Wynton Marsalis, Tom Scott, Sheila Escovedo, Ed Calle, Victor Mendoza, Luis Salinas and many more.
Current activities include session work more from his studio, educator at LIB Music Academy and playing with the Waldo Madera Quintet plus other Jazz projects in USA
