The Police’s Stewart Copeland Performs Limp Bizkit’s “Rollin'” as He Hears It for First Time: Watch

Stewart Copeland, legendary drummer of The Police, was tasked with playing along to Limp Bizkit’s “Rollin’ (Air Raid Vehicle)” while hearing it for the first time as part of Drumeo’s popular YouTube series.
Drumeo’s first “For the First Time” episode of 2025 follows acclaimed editions featuring Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith taking on Thirty Seconds to Mars’ “The Kill” in 2023, and Dream Theater’s Mike Portnoy figuring out Tool’s “Pneuma” last year, among others. The Smith episode has garnered 20 million views itself.
Copeland, who landed in the Top 10 of Consequence’s 100 Best Drummers of All Time list, was asked by Drumeo host Brandon Toews if he had seen the “For the First Time” series at all, replying, “I saw Chad. How can you not love Chad?”
Toews then started playing “Rollin’” without its drum track for Copeland, who immediately began to play along. Unlike most other episodes, where a drummer does a “first take” before a final run through, Copeland completed his performance in just one take, playing along pretty seamlessly to the nu-metal classic.
Asked if he’d ever heard the song before, Copeland responded, “No.” When he was told it was Limp Bizkit, he said, “Oh really? I like those guys in concept, but I’m not that familiar with their music.”
Toward the end of the episode, Copeland was played the original track featuring John Otto on drums, and commended the Bizkit stickman’s playing: “Go John, that’s a great track!”
Fans can catch Copeland on his “Have I Said Too Much?” spoken word tour of the United Kingdom in September and October of this year. Meanwhile, Limp Bizkit are set to support Metallica on a number of North American dates in 2025 (tickets available here).
