Pianist Alan Pasqua (who feels equally at home in jazz as in rock and pop music), with his delicate piano playing, is always on the lookout for the intermediate tones, for the essence of the tones. Pasqua and drummer Peter Erskine have met again and again over the years, playing primarily in intimate trio settings. For the large ensemble with the WDR BIG BAND, their compositions were arranged by Vince Mendoza. The chief composer also conducted this concert.
