In a recent edition of Consequence‘s “Two For the Road” series, tourmates Dale Crover of Melvins and Dave Lombardo of Mr. Bungle took a deep dive into drumming, touring, and everything in between. Their respective bands have just embarked on the “Geek Show” tour, which began on May 10th in Pomona, California, and runs through a May 24th gig in Oakland, California (get tickets here).

Of course, two drummers with as much experience and skill as Lombardo and Crover would have a lot to talk about — so when they finished discussing their upcoming tour, they made sure to stick around for a bit longer to talk shop. They go over each other’s respective kit sizes and specs, discuss their appreciation for Charlie Watts and John Bonham, and compare their ideal drum sounds.
